SONORA, Calif. - The Bureau of Reclamation announced today revised recreation area winter operations at New Melones Lake beginning January 22. These seasonal changes allow Reclamation to perform facility maintenance and enable natural resource recovery.
* Closed Tuttletown Recreation Area facilities: Acorn Campground and Fiddleneck Group Camp
* Closed Glory Hole Recreation Area facilities: Big Oak Campground and Osprey Point Day-Use Area
* Open Tuttletown Recreation Area facilities: All day-use areas, including the boat launch; Manzanita Campground, Chamise Campground and Oak Knoll Group Camp
* Open Glory Hole Recreation Area facilities: All day-use areas, including the two boat launches; Ironhorse Campground
All Tuttletown and Glory Hole Recreation Areas’ campgrounds and day-use areas will open April 1.
The New Melones Lake Administration Office is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and is located at 6850 Studhorse Flat Road in Sonora.
