ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The Bureau of Reclamation is seeking public input on the impacts related to proposed repairs at El Vado Dam in northern New Mexico. El Vado Dam is undergoing a Corrective Action Study through Reclamation’s Safety of Dams Program and will require modifications and repairs of the dam and spillway in the coming years. Some of the potential action alternatives include a geomembrane liner, concrete liner and replacement or repairs to the spillway. Prior to initiating formal scoping for the project as required by the National Environmental Policy Act, Reclamation is holding two public meetings to identify interested parties and potential issues to consider during the process.
