The following news_release was published by the Bureau of Reclamation on Dec. 10, 2019. It is reproduced in full below.

FOLSOM, Calif. - The Bureau of Reclamation proposes to issue a 24-month interim Central Valley Project water service contract renewal for the Placer County Water Agency for the annual delivery of up to 35,000 acre-feet of CVP water in Placer County. The contract would be from March 1, 2020, through Feb. 28, 2022. Deliveries would be made through existing facilities, and no new construction is required. A draft Environmental Assessment is available for public review.

If a new long-term water service contract is executed, the interim renewal contract will be superseded by the long-term water service contract. Any new long-term water service contract will be analyzed under a separate process.

A draft EA was prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act and is available at https://www.usbr.gov/mp/nepa/nepa_project_details.php?Project_ID=41541.
