The following news_release was published by the Bureau of Reclamation on June 2, 2020. It is reproduced in full below.

MILLS, Wyo. - The Wyoming Area Office of the Bureau of Reclamation, in partnership with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), will perform road reconstruction on the Boysen Dam Road and the access road which runs between the dam and the Upper Wind River Campground.

It is expected the work will start on June 16 and be completed by Sept. 28, 2020. Construction will entail removing and replacing several culverts, grading, base course and paving roads that are currently gravel, realigning a portion of road that has been susceptible to rockfall, and overlaying the existing asphalt portions of road with additional asphalt. Several parking areas and approach roads will also be graded and paved.

Portions of the project may be closed for a maximum of seven days, however, access to the Boysen Powerplant and to the west side of the dam will be maintained with only minor delays.
