DURANGO, Colo. - The Bureau of Reclamation invites members of the press and public to a virtual meeting where negotiations will continue for a Cutter Lateral Transferred Works contract with the Navajo Nation and the Navajo Tribal Utility Authority. The contract is for operational, maintenance, and replacement of federally owned Cutter Lateral features of the Navajo-Gallup Water Supply Project, located near Bloomfield, New Mexico.
This contract will facilitate treated water deliveries to the Navajo Nation and the Jicarilla Apache Nation. The negotiations and subsequent contract provide the mechanism for facility maintenance for the delivery of the Navajo and Jicarilla Apache Nation’s Water in the state of New Mexico.
WHAT: Virtual public meeting to negotiate the OM&R for Cutter Lateral Transferred Works contract.
WHEN: July 27, 2021, at 8 a.m.
WHERE: Due to COVID-19 social distancing requirements, this meeting will be conducted virtually via Microsoft Teams.
WHY: The contract being negotiated will provide terms and conditions for the OM&R of specific project features. All negotiations are open for public observation, and the public will have the opportunity to ask questions and offer comments pertaining to the contract during a 30-minute comment period following the negotiation session.
