FRESNO, Calif. - The Bureau of Reclamation today announced a second public negotiation session with the California Department of Water Resources and seven Cross Valley contractors on a long-term conveyance contract for delivery of Central Valley Project water through state-owned facilities. The contractors are Hills Valley Irrigation District, Kern-Tulare Water District, Lower Tule River Irrigation District, Pixley Irrigation District, Tri-Valley Water District, and Fresno and Tulare counties.

Reclamation, DWR, and the contractors have previously entered into successive, short-term interim renewal contracts pursuant to the Central Valley Project Improvement Act; this included both federal water service and state conveyance terms and conditions. DWR has requested that its conveyance responsibilities be defined in a separate contract that is exclusive of Reclamation’s water service responsibilities.

Call 877-932-2131 and, when prompted, type in participant passcode 4896209#

The public is welcome to listen during the teleconferencing negotiations and comment after the negotiations close. Contact Erma Leal for more information at 559-262-0350 (TTY 800-877-8339).
