WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-WY), ranking member of the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources (ENR), issued the following statement regarding today’s district court decision to reinstate a moratorium on coal lease sales on federal lands:

“The Democrats’ assault on American energy is relentless. A moratorium on federal coal leasing is a slap in the face to energy workers in Wyoming and across the West. This will only reduce electric reliability and push prices higher for American families. Today’s district court decision will make things worse."
