Robbery of BBVA Compass Bank Branch in Albuquerque

Robbery of BBVA Compass Bank Branch in Albuquerque

A man with a shotgun robbed a BBVA Compass Bank branch in Albuquerque on Thursday, July 14, 2016.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6'0" tall, and about 180-200 pounds.

Witnesses said he entered the bank located at 9500 Sage Rd. SW at approximately 1:40 p.m.

The suspect demanded money from a teller, who gave him an undisclosed amount of cash.

The robber left the bank on a bicycle.

Anyone with information about this robbery is asked to call the FBI at (505) 889-1300 or Albuquerque Metro Crime Stoppers, anonymously, at (505) 843-STOP.

The FBI may pay a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to arrest and conviction of a bank robber.

Bank robbery carries a possible prison term of up to 20 years. The use of a gun, other dangerous weapon, toy gun, or hoax bomb device during the commission of a bank robbery can be punishable by a prison term of up to 25 years.
