Illinois Fugitive Arrest at Atlanta/Dekalb

Acting Special Agent in Charge George Crouch, FBI Atlanta, announces the following arrest today at Decatur, Georgia.

On Friday, Sept. 23, 2016, Kenneth Blatcher, age 26, of Chicago, Illinois, was arrested without incident at a Decatur, Georgia apartment by FBI Atlanta AMMO (Atlanta Metro Major Offender) Task Force agents and officers, assisted by the Dekalb County Sheriff’s Office.

Blatcher was wanted on an attempted murder and aggravated discharge of firearm arrest warrant issued by the Cook County Sheriff’s Office, Illinois, regarding an Aug. 17, 2015 shooting that occurred in Glenwood, Illinois. Blatcher fled Illinois shortly after the shooting, and the FBI began providing assistance.

Blatcher is currently being detained at the Dekalb County Detention Facility where he awaits extradition back to Cook County, Illinois. The public should be reminded that the above are merely allegations and all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
