Remains Identified as Rachael Madison
The FBI has confirmed that remains located by investigators in Tennessee on Friday, December 2 are that of Rachael Lynn Madison, who was last seen on Nov. 27, 2016 in Ormond-by-the-Sea, Florida.
Jarvis Madison, Rachael Madison's estranged husband, is currently in custody in Indiana on charges unrelated to her death.
The investigation continues to be led by the FBI Jacksonville Division, with assistance from the Volusia County Sheriff's Office, FBI Knoxville, FBI Louisville, FBI Pittsburgh, U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force, and the Indiana State Police.
"We offer our deepest condolences to the family of Rachael Madison," said Charles P. Spencer, special agent in charge of the FBI Jacksonville Division, "and we continue to work tirelessly alongside our law enforcement partners in an effort to provide her loved ones with answers."
Because the investigation is active and ongoing, no additional details can be confirmed by the FBI at this time.
