New Orleans Man Arrested by FBI and Charged with 75 Counts of Possession of Child Pornography

New Orleans Man Arrested by FBI and Charged with 75 Counts of Possession of Child Pornography

NEW ORLEANS-On Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at approximately 9:00 a.m., Pavlos Nelson was arrested by the FBI New Orleans Division’s Child Exploitation Task Force (CETF) for possession of child pornography.

After a lengthy investigation, the New Orleans CETF arrested Pavlos Nelson, White male, age 36, in Orleans Parish. Nelson was charged under LRS 14:81.1, Possession of Child Pornography. During the execution of a state issued search warrant, Nelson was found to be in possession of over 75 child pornography images and videos.

Nelson was subsequently transported to the Orleans Parish Prison and booked with 75 counts of possession of child pornography. An Orleans Parish Grand Jury indicted Pavlos Nelson on 75 counts of pornography involving images of juveniles under the age of 13. This matter will be prosecuted by the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s Office.

The FBI New Orleans CETF is a full-time task force currently comprised of FBI agents and task force officers from the Louisiana State Police, Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, and Kenner Police Department.
