Attempted Bank Robbery
The Aurora Police Department and FBI Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Task Force are investigating the following attempted bank robbery:
US Bank
10190 East Colfax Avenue
Aurora, Colorado
May 9, 2017, 4:30 p.m.
The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 50 to 60 years of age, 120 to 130 pounds, gray facial hair, with blue or green eyes. The suspect was seen wearing a blue and white baseball hat, gray button-up sweater, and tan dress pants.
The suspect demanded money from bank employees, received money, and fled the bank on foot. There was no weapon seen and no one was injured.
Bank robbery is punishable by a 20-year prison sentence for each offense and increases if a dangerous weapon is used in the commission of the crime.
The FBI continues to provide financial institutions with the best practices for security to make them less vulnerable to robberies.
