Madison, Wis. - Scott C. Blader, United States Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin, announced that Nathaniel Drow, 32, Wausau, Wisconsin, was sentenced today by Chief U.S. District Judge James D. Peterson to 10 years in federal prison for conspiring to distribute 50 grams or more of pure methamphetamine. Drow pleaded guilty to this charge on September 6, 2018.
On April 17, 2018, Wausau Police Department officers observed Drow and his co-defendant Antron Allen sitting in a vehicle in a parking lot in Wausau. Officers were aware that Drow and Allen both had active arrest warrants. As law enforcement officers approached the vehicle, Drow jumped out of the passenger seat and dropped a small baggie containing methamphetamine. Officers searched the vehicle and found approximately 220 grams of methamphetamine located in the front passenger door. The investigation revealed that Drow had been selling methamphetamine in Wausau for the previous two weeks.
In imposing the sentence, Judge Peterson noted that Drow was on probation at time of his arrest for a felony drug conviction.
The trial in Allen’s case is scheduled to begin on Dec. 10, 2018, in U.S. District Court in Madison.
The charges against Drow are the result of an investigation by the Wausau Police Department and Federal Bureau of Investigation. The prosecution of this case has been handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Aaron D. Wegner.
With regard to the charges against Allen, you are advised that a charge is merely an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
