Former City of Miami Police Department Officer Pleads Guilty to Federal Drug Trafficking Offense

Former City of Miami Police Department Officer Pleads Guilty to Federal Drug Trafficking Offense

MIAMI-Former City of Miami Police Officer Schonton Harris pleaded guilty for her involvement in a drug trafficking conspiracy.

Schonton Harris pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess cocaine with the intent to distribute it, in violation of Title 21, United States Code, Section 846.

Sentencing is scheduled for April 3, 2019.

The City of Miami Police Department, Internal Affairs Section, and the FBI Miami Area Corruption Task Force are involved in the investigation.

The case is being prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida.
