The FBI Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Task Force, Arapahoe, and Douglas County Sheriff’s Offices Are Investigating Multiple Bank Robberies
The FBI Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Task Force, Arapahoe, and Douglas County Sheriff’s Offices are investigating the following bank robberies:
First Citizens Bank
9848 Zenith Meridian
Englewood, Colorado
May 3, 2019, 4:12 p.m.
UMB Bank
8190 South University Boulevard
Centennial, Colorado
May 3, 2019, 4:35 p.m.
In the first robbery the suspect passed a note demanding money and no weapon was threatened. At the second bank location the suspect rushed into the bank, handed a note to the teller demanding money, and displayed a handgun.
The suspect was described as a Hispanic female, 5’4" to 5’7" tall, heavy build, and long brown hair. The suspect was wearing a black and white baseball hat, black sunglasses, backpack, black hooded sweatshirt, patterned leggings, and white tennis shoes.
Bank robbery is punishable by a 20-year prison sentence for each offense and increases if a dangerous weapon is used in the commission of the crime.
The FBI continues to provide financial institutions with the best practices for security to make them less vulnerable to robberies.
