FBI Media Alert: FBI Charges Santa Fe Man with Three Bank Robberies
Lester Padilla, 46, of Santa Fe, was arrested Oct. 2, 2019 on a federal criminal complaint charging him with three bank robberies committed last month.
The FBI with the assistance of the Española Police Department arrested Padilla in Santa Fe.
Padilla is charged with robbing Wells Fargo, 545 West Cordova Road, Santa Fe, on Sept. 26, 2019; Wells Fargo, 502 North Guadalupe Street, Santa Fe, on Sept. 24, 2019; and Wells Fargo, 645 North Riverside Drive, in Española, on September 9, 2019.
Padilla is expected to have an initial appearance in U.S. District Court in Albuquerque on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2019.
No further information will be released until after Padilla’s court appearance.
Charges in criminal complaints are only accusations. The public is reminded that all defendants are considered innocent unless convicted in a court of law.
