Determination under Section 110(b)(2)(D) of the Trafficking Victims Protection Act of 2000, as Amended

The following Other Release was published by the U.S Department of State, Bureau of Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs on July 1, 2021. It is reproduced in full below.

Pursuant to the authority vested in me by section 110(b)(2)(D) of the Trafficking Victims Protection Act of 2000, as amended (22 U.S.C. 7107(b)(2)(D)), and Presidential Delegation of Waiver Authority to the Secretary dated Sept. 20, 2010, I hereby determine that a waiver of the application of clause (i) of such section is justified with respect to Azerbaijan, Barbados, Belize, Brunei, Cambodia, Curaçao, Marshall Islands, Romania, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, and Vietnam because each country has a written plan to begin making significant efforts to bring itself into compliance with the minimum standards for the elimination of trafficking; the plan, if implemented, would constitute making such significant efforts; and the country is devoting sufficient resources to implement the plan.

This Determination, along with the Memorandum of Justification supporting such determination, shall be reported to Congress and published on the Department of State website.

Antony J. Blinken
