House Republican Whip and Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis Ranking Member Steve Scalise (R-La.) today blasted Democrats’ latest coronavirus report that fails to investigate the Biden Administration’s botched pandemic response:
“Today’s report is further proof that Speaker Pelosi only set up this sham panel to carry out a political vendetta against former President Trump. Democrats continue to try covering up President Biden’s failed pandemic response, as well as his political interference with science to allow more shutdowns. The Biden Administration allowed a radical teachers union to rewrite scientific guidance so they could make it easier to shut down schools. They issued confusing guidance at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, bypassed the FDA’s vaccine approval process for boosters, and failed to conduct a robust investigation into the origin of COVID. These failures have crushed learning opportunities for millions of children, undermined Americans’ trust in our institutions, and placed Americans at risk for future pandemics. We need credible oversight, not political cover ups. When Republicans are running the House next year, we will hold the Biden Administration accountable and advance solutions to prevent future government abuse and mismanagement.”
