The U.S. Department of Energy announced the opening of applications to all 50 states, five U.S. territories and the District of Columbia for $425 in formula funding to help develop and deploy clean energy programs.
The funding is provided by the State Energy Program, which, in turn, is backed by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, according to an Aug. 26 Department of Energy news release.
“States are the vanguard of our nation’s energy planning and implementation efforts, driving the deployment of clean energy infrastructure to lower utility costs and ensure an equitable clean energy transition,” Energy Secretary Jennifer M. Granholm said in the release. “The President’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law funding expands foundational, longstanding programs like the State Energy Program to help every state and territory manage their energy resources and accelerate gains in energy efficiency and add more clean energy onto the grid.”
The DOE promoted the announcement by linking to it in an Aug. 26 post on Twitter.
