We are initiating an evaluation of the U.S. Census Bureau’s (the Bureau’s) 2020 Census Experiments and Evaluations Operation. Our objective is to determine whether the Bureau prepared adequate and timely operational assessments that included the appropriate metrics to support planning for the 2030 decennial research and testing.
We contracted with the Institute for Defense Analyses—an independent firm—to perform this evaluation. My office will oversee the progress of the evaluation and ensure it is performed in accordance with Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency standards for inspections and evaluations and the contract terms.
An entrance conference has been scheduled for September 2, 2022, to discuss our evaluation objective and scope, time frames, and any potential needs for us to be provided data. If you have any questions about this evaluation, please contact me at (202) 577-9547 or Terry Storms, Division Director, at (202) 570-6903.
We thank you in advance for your cooperation during this effort.
