Grant County, WASHINGTON - The Bureau of Reclamation is reviewing requests by Royal Slope Solar LLC for two land-use authorization licenses to construct, operate, and maintain electrical transmission lines on Reclamation lands. Reclamation summarizes both proposals in the Scoping Report, available online Columbia-Pacific Northwest Region Environmental Documents | Bureau of Reclamation (usbr.gov). The 230-kilovolt transmission line and the 34.5-kV transmission line, collectively, the project, would connect a utility-scale solar facility to the Vantage substation, located east of Wanapum Dam in Grant County. Reclamation may authorize occupancy of federal land, pursuant to 43 CFR § 429.5. Reclamation plans to analyze the effects of authorizing the project by preparing an environmental assessment, pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act. Reclamation seeks information from the public to develop the EA, particularly any information that may inform the effects of authorizing the project. Individuals may provide comments related to this project to Reclamation electronically by sending a message and associated attachments to bor-sha-RylSlpsEnvCmpl@usbr.gov. Written comments can be sent to Kavi Koleni, Natural Resource Specialist, Bureau of Reclamation, 1150 N. Curtis Rd. Boise, ID 83706. Comments must be submitted/postmarked by September 6, 2022.
