BLM Fulfills Final Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act Entitlement for Paimiut

ANCHORAGE - The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) made an important land transfer to Paimiut Corp. this week.

BLM transferred 812.68 acres to Paimiut Corp., representing the corporation’s final entitlement under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act of 1971 (ANCSA).

With this patent, Paimiut Corp. has received a total of 71,062.98 acres of land surrounding the village of Paimiut, located on the west coast of Alaska. So far this year, BLM has issued the final land entitlements for eight Alaska Native villages.
