Las Vegas - Joining the nation’s largest day of volunteering at Red Rock Canyon sound like your cup of tea? While it won’t be steaming hot, it will be a great opportunity to join Make a Difference Day.
October 25 will provide an opportunity to contribute your time to give back to one of the most serene areas in Southern Nevada. Volunteers will assist the BLM, Friends of Red Rock Canyon and Red Rock Canyon Interpretive Association by assisting with a desert canyon cleanup.
The Make a Difference Day desert canyon cleanup will take place off State Route (SR) 160 approximately one mile west from the junction at SR 160 and SR 159. Volunteers and staff should meet at the Red Rock Visitor Center, lower parking lot at 9 a.m. to carpool to the work site. Due to the clean-up taking place off a gravel road, cars and vans are not recommended.
Water, snacks, gloves and tools will be provided.
