DURANGO, Colo. - While spring showers and early summer rains have helped alleviate the wildland fire danger in southwest Colorado, the Bureau of Land Management Tres Rios Field Office is posting a fire prevention order at the Animas City Mountain and Grand View Special Recreation Management Areas as a reminder that campfires are not allowed in these areas.

“These areas are near the City of Durango and are identified in the newly signed Resource Management Plan as ‘Day Use’ only," said Connie Clementson, Tres Rios Field Manager. “As the name suggests, ‘Day Use’ areas do not allow overnight camping and campfires are prohibited."
