Southwest Resource Advisory Council to meet Aug. 14

MONTROSE, Colo.-The Bureau of Land Management’s Southwest Resource Advisory Council will meet Friday, Aug. 14, at the Gunnison High School (800 W. Ohio Ave., Gunnison, CO 81230) at 9 a.m.

The meeting is open to the public, and the public comment period is at 11:30 a.m. Individuals who want to make a statement during the public comment period should register with the BLM by sending an email to sborders@blm.gov by Wednesday, Aug. 12. Speakers should submit a written copy of their statement at the meeting for the administrative record. Depending on the number of speakers, the RAC may limit the length of presentations.

Agenda topics include:

* Gunnison Sage-Grouse Environmental Impact Statement update

* Introduction to Planning 2.0

* Master Leasing Plan sub-group update

The Southwest RAC is one of three advisory councils to BLM Colorado. Composed of 15 members appointed by the Secretary of the Interior, each RAC represents diverse public land interests, ranging from environmental to local government to commercial activity.
