The second in a nationwide series of listening sessions on the federal coal program will be held Tuesday, Aug. 11, in Billings. Mont.
The session has been moved across the street from the original hotel conference room location to the BLM Montana/Dakota State Office at 5001 Southgate Drive.
The session runs from 1:00-4:00 p.m. Doors will open at noon so participants can enter the meeting and sign-up to speak during the public participation session. A valid photo ID is required to enter a federal facility. A list of other reminders about attending meetings in federal facilities can be found online at http://go.usa.gov/3sPzY.
Interior Secretary Sally Jewell called the sessions in order to seek information from the public about how the Bureau of Land Management can best carry out its responsibility to ensure that American taxpayers receive a fair return on the coal resources managed by the federal government on their behalf.
Those unable to attend in person can watch and listen to the entire session online at www.blm.gov/live. Additional listening sessions are set for August 13 in Gillette, Wyo.; August 18 in Denver, Colo.; and August 20 in Farmington, N.M.
