BLM Central Coast Field Office Proposes New Rules for Shooting

MARINA, Calif. - The Bureau of Land Management is proposing new rules to manage shooting activities on public lands administered by the Central Coast Field Office. The proposed rules are now available for review and comment during a 60-day public comment period ending May 10, 2016.

The proposed shooting rules are needed to provide consistency and uniformity for shooting on BLM-administered lands, to prevent user conflicts and provide greater safety to the visiting public. The proposed rules do not close public lands to shooting activities.

Copies of the proposed rules are available on the Central Coast Field Office website http://www.blm.gov/ca/st/en/fo/hollister.html or by request.

Written public comments concerning the proposed supplementary rules can be submitted in person, by mail, email or fax to the Bureau of Land Management, Central Coast Field Office, 940 Second Ave., Marina, CA 93933, blm_ca_hollister_fo_email@blm.gov.

The public is reminded that before including personal address, phone number, email address, or other personal identifying information in submitted comments, they be aware that the entire comment -- including personal identifying information -- may be made publicly available at any time. The public may request the BLM withhold personal identifying information from public review, however the BLM cannot guarantee that it will be able to do so.
