Haines- The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Glennallen Field Office today published a scoping summary report for Constantine Metal Resources LTD's (Constantine) proposed plan to extend an exploration access road to Federal mining claims located near Haines, Alaska.

“The BLM received 173 comments on the proposed plan," noted BLM Glennallen Field Manager, Dennis Teitzel. “Comments have helped to identify several issues that will be addressed during the environmental analysis, currently underway. Our office expects to release a Draft of the analysis for public review and comment sometime in April."
Constantine’s proposed exploration is adjacent to ongoing exploratory activity in the Palmer Project, which is within the Porcupine Mining District. The BLM previously authorized Constantine to carry out exploratory activity on their Federal claims with up to 5 acres of ground disturbance. In June of 2015, Constantine submitted a new mine plan of operations that would expand their existing access road. The new proposal requires further public, stakeholder, and agency review, including a NEPA analysis.
