The Bureau of Land Management Nevada, is hosting a wild horse adoption event at the Reno Rodeo Livestock Events Center on Sunday, June 19, at 2 p.m. through a competitive-bid process.Over 25 wild horses from BLM-administered public lands in California, Nevada, and Oregon, will be offered for adoption at the conclusion of the Extreme Mustang Makeover (EMM) competition. Trainers from Arizona, California, Idaho, Nevada and Oregon have spent the last 100 days building trust, gentling, halter breaking, and saddle training these wild horses for one of the most talked-about equine competitions in America.Through a partnership with the Bureau of Land Management's Wild Horse and Burro Program, the Mustang Heritage Foundation created the EMM event in order to recognize and highlight the value and versatility of wild horses through a national training competition. The Foundation is celebrating the 10th year of the EMM in 2016 with 10 national event stops - this is the second consecutive year the EMM will be a part of the Reno Rodeo. The event is scheduled during the first weekend of the Reno Rodeo, on June 18 beginning at 9 a.m. and June 19 beginning at 10 a.m. in the Reno Livestock Events Center Indoor Arena.For more information on the EMM - Nevada visit www.blm.gov/nevada. Interested adopter must be approved by the BLM prior to receiving a bidder's card - they can complete an application in advance and bring it with them to the event.
