WINNEMUCCA, Nev. - The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Winnemucca District Office is pleased to announce the selection of Justin B. Drew as the District Manager. Justin will start in the position at the beginning of February, 2017.
“We conducted a very extensive and thorough search and interview process for this important position," said BLM Nevada State Director John Ruhs. “Justin has a solid record of service and leadership and we are looking forward to having him onboard in Winnemucca."
Justin’s most recent federal service was as a Managing Director of the Counter Transnational Organized Crime division at United States Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM). Prior to that position, Justin served as Executive Officer for the USSOUTHCOM Joint Intelligence Operation Center. He also held numerous other leadership positions in the U.S. Navy as both an Intel officer and as an enlisted aviation electronics technician.
Justin received a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautics from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, graduating Summa Cum Laude. He also received a Master's Degree in April 2016 from Boston University and has several other educational accomplishments. In addition, as a mason, he volunteers within the community to include: Big Brother Big Sister Program, JROTC judge, Habitat for Humanity, and Humane Society. He also trains dogs for general obedience or to work as service animals for veterans.
The Winnemucca District Manager position manages 8.4 million acres of BLM-administered lands throughout Northern Nevada, two field offices, eighty-three full-time employees, and a National Conservation Area.
