BLM Sierra Front-Northwestern Great Basin Resource Advisory Council to meet January 26

Carson City, Nev. - The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) will meet with the Sierra Front-Northwestern Great Basin Resource Advisory Council (RAC) on Thursday, Jan. 26, in Carson City, Nevada. The meeting will be held at the Carson City BLM District office at 5665 Morgan Mill Road, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Topics for the agenda include: RAC subcommittee reports, District Manager updates, Spring/Riparian Management discussion and recommendations, meeting planning, and election of 2017 officers. There will be two public comment periods at 8:15 a.m. and 12:15 p.m.

The Federal Land Policy and Management Act directs the Secretary of the Interior to involve the public in planning and discussion of issues related to management of BLM-administered public lands. The Sierra Front-Northwestern Great Basin RAC is one of three such councils in Nevada that accommodates this community participation directive. Represented on the council are commercial and non-commercial users that include elected officials and state agencies, environmental, livestock, mining, and wild horse and burro interests.
