A final draft of the Roadside Fuel Break Hazardous Fuels Reduction Project Programmatic Environmental Assessment is now available for public review and comment. This project is intended to construct strategic fuel breaks across the Battle Mountain District in order to protect critical habitat, community infrastructure, life and property from wildfire.

The comment period will be open for thirty days beginning on Friday March 3, 2017, and will close on April 3, 2017. Comments may be submitted electronically via email to blm_nv_bmdo_fuel_breaks@blm.gov, or via mail to the following address:

All comments postmarked by April 3 will be considered. Before including your address, phone number, e-mail address, or other personal identifying information in your comment, be advised, that your entire comment -- including your personal identifying information -- may be made publicly available at any time. While you can ask BLM in your comment to withhold from public review your personal identifying information, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to do so.
Following the public comment period, the Battle Mountain District will issue either a Finding of No Significant Impact or prepare an Environmental Impact Statement.
