Santa Fe, N.M. - The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is seeking input on the analysis of 60 parcels in southeastern New Mexico for the September 2017 competitive oil and gas lease sale. The parcels are located in Eddy, Chaves, Quay, Curry, Lea, and Roosevelt counties.
The draft environmental assessment (EA) analyzes a range of alternatives for the sale and is available for review online at https://www.blm.gov/programs/energy-and-minerals/oil-and-gas/leasing/regional-lease-sales/new-mexico. Comments will be accepted through May 12, 2017.
Public comments are an important component of the National Environmental Policy Act process and help identify issues, concerns, and mitigation opportunities not covered in the EA. Email comments to NMleasesalecomments@blm.gov with “September 2017 Lease Parcels" in the subject line.
