The Bureau of Land Management Lander Field Office is seeking public input as it begins to analyze the renewal of grazing permits in the Silver Creek Common Allotment. The Silver Creek Common Allotment is located in Fremont County about 50 miles south of Lander and contains more than 30,000 acres of public land.
The BLM is currently in the process of identifying potential issues and ways to reduce possible conflicts between livestock grazing and other multiple uses. The public is encouraged to participate in and contribute to the process by identifying potential issues.
As part of the analysis, the BLM will evaluate livestock grazing management and other actions to make progress toward meeting rangeland health standards as well as identify under what conditions livestock grazing will be authorized on the allotment.
Though comments or questions related to this proposed project are welcome at any time, they will be most effective if received by May 20, 2017.
