LAS VEGAS - On April 26, 2017, President Trump signed Executive Order 13792, which directed a Department of the Interior review of some national monuments, including southern Nevada's Gold Butte National Monument. In light of this review, the Bureau of Land Management has postponed the Gold Butte National Monument Public Information Forum scheduled for May 25 in North Las Vegas.
The BLM looks forward to supporting the President's priorities and direction provided by the Secretary of the Interior regarding this review, which includes the first-ever formal public comment period on monument designations under the Antiquities Act.
The BLM manages 19 national monuments subject to review under the executive order. These monuments, including Gold Butte National Monument, span approximately 10.7 million acres in nine western states.
