The following press releases was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management on May 12, 2017. It is reproduced in full below.

WINNEMUCCA, Nev. - The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Winnemucca District and partner organizations Friends of Black Rock-High Rock (FBR), Friends of Nevada Wilderness and Nevada Outdoor School are hosting the annual Black Rock Rendezvous event May 26-29 at the Black Rock Desert.

The three-day, family-friendly event includes public lands service projects, guest speakers, a “kids camp," guided natural and cultural interpretive tours and a Dutch oven cook-off on Saturday night. "We are excited to offer new tours and guest speakers this year, such as trails expert and author Ken Johnston presenting and leading a Nobles Trail tour," says Michael Myers, Executive Director of FBR.

For detailed information, including the schedule of events and directions, please visit the FBR’s web page at: http://www.blackrockrendezvous.org/. Pre-registration is not required but is appreciated. Though the event is expected to be held on the playa, an alternate location may be used if the playa is too wet to drive on and will be posted to the web page.

For more information about the event, please contact Kathy Ataman, Archeologist for the Black Rock Field Office at (775) 623-1500 or kataman@blm.gov.
