CANON CITY, Colo. - The Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) Royal Gorge Field Office seeks public comment on a proposal to sell four public land parcels totaling 6.72 acres to the City of Black Hawk.
“The BLM wants to hear about any issues or concerns from the public before making a decision," said Royal Gorge Field Manager Keith Berger. “We are also interested in hearing about how the proposal could benefit the local community."
Much of the land surrounding the parcels is owned by the City of Black Hawk. If approved, the City of Black Hawk intends to use the land to build a water reservoir, for recreation purposes, and preservation of open space.
Comments will be most effective if received by June 16, 2017. Information about the proposal and how to comment on it are available on-line: https://go.usa.gov/x5dtK.
