Newport, Ore. - Join the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) at Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area to celebrate International Migratory Bird Day (IMBD) on May 13. This event celebrates the life of migratory birds and their journey between breeding and non-breeding homes. Visitors can pick up an IMBD passport as they “migrate" to the different locations listed below. Each site will have passport stickers, fun prizes, and information about migratory birds.
Guided Bird Walks
* 9:00 a.m. - Birding Walk at Beaver Creek, meet at Brian Booth State Park Visitor Center
* 11:00 a.m. - Guided Estuary Trail Walk, meet at Hatfield Marine Science Center
Family Activities
From 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area Visitor center there will be many fun family activities, including:
* Make your own Bird Mask
* Coloring Extravaganza
* Migration Game
* Bird Bingo
* Short Film “Piper" and accompanying activity at 1:00 p.m.
