Salem, Ore. -- The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Cascades Field Office has just completed a revision to the Sandy Ridge trailhead plan and is now available for review. The revised plan addresses a number of comments from the public related to land-use allocations, engineering design for the project, and invasive non-native plant species management.
The Sandy Ridge area continues to serve the American Family by being good neighbors and supporting traditional land uses by providing access to hunting, fishing, and this exceptional mountain biking recreational opportunity.
The “Proposed Action" includes the construction of an expanded parking area toward the northwest of the existing parking area, picnicking options, an additional vault restroom, and a beginner level mountain bicycle skills course. The final engineering design for the proposed project was reduced from 180 to 150 parking spaces. The total proposed footprint for the project is approximately four acres.
The plan will be available for a 15-day comment period ending on July 17th. The plan is available for review at the Northwest Oregon District BLM Office or online at: http://bit.ly/2sSQMv8. Send written comments to:
