DOLORES, Colo. - On Friday, July 14, at 12 p.m., Stage 1 Fire Restrictions within the Bureau of Land Management Tres Rios Field Office are rescinded including BLM managed lands in Archuleta, Dolores, La Plata, Montezuma, Montrose and San Miguel counties.
Recent precipitation in the area reduced the imminent fire danger with continued moisture predicted into the coming weeks.
“The rainfall improved our fire danger indices which justifies this decision," said Brandon Lewis, BLM Southwest District Fire Management Officer, “However, it is important to recognize the potential for wildfire still exists".
To prevent wildfires, the public is asked to remain vigilant and make responsible decisions when conducting activities outdoors. Learn more at https://www.nifc.gov/prevEdu/prevEdu_main.html.
