The following press releases was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management on July 17, 2017. It is reproduced in full below.

Cottonwood, ID - The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Cottonwood Field Office has issued a temporary emergency closure order for the Eagle Creek Road due to fire suppression activities and to ensure public health and safety.

Effective immediately, the Eagle Creek Road is closed from the intersection of Zaza Road to the Salmon River. The Eagle Creek Road is a narrow road that is one of the primary access points to the Craig Mountain Wildlife Management Area.

The public is discouraged from attempting to access the area so fire crews can safely perform suppression activities.

BLM is working together with Idaho Department of Lands, Idaho Fish and Game and the U.S. Forest Service to contain several active wildfires; the Corral Creek Fire and the Powerline Fire. Both fires began after a lightning storm swept through the Craig Mountain Wildlife Management Area on July 15.
