CODY, Wyo. -The Bureau of Land Management will hold public meetings on Oct. 24 and 25 in Cody and Lovell to gather input on cave and karst management in the Cody Field Office area. The BLM’s multiple use and sustained yield mission directs the management and protection of caves while also providing for recreational use and scientific research.
“The Cody Field Office needs your assistance as we develop a cave and karst management plan that addresses site specific needs that arise in a multiple use setting," said BLM Cody Field Manager Delissa Minnick.
This plan will address the natural, undisturbed ecosystems within caves, recreational caving, scientific research and surface uses above caves.
The meetings will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Oct. 24 at the Cody Library Grizzly Room and on Oct. 25 at the Lovell Community Center.
