SALT LAKE CITY-The BLM Utah State Office will host three public scoping meetings in a continued effort to engage the public in the land use planning process for Greater Sage-grouse habitat. The BLM invites members of the public to attend meetings from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the following dates and locations:
* Tuesday, Nov. 14 at the Western Park Convention Center, 300 East 200 South, Vernal, Utah.
* Wednesday, Nov. 15 at the Festival Hall/Heritage Theater, 105 North 100 East, Second Floor Conference Center Room 1, Cedar City, Utah.
* Thursday, Nov. 16 at the Snowville Elementary School, 160 North Stone Road, Snowville, Utah.
On Oct. 11, the BLM issued a Notice of Intent initiating a 45-day public scoping period for Greater Sage-grouse plan amendments with associated NEPA documents. BLM Utah will consider amendments to current management actions for Greater Sage-grouse in land use plans. The public is encouraged to help identify issues, management questions, or concerns that should be addressed in the plan amendment(s) to help improve sage-grouse conservation, and to strengthen communication and collaboration between states and the federal government. The public scoping meetings provide the public an opportunity to talk to resource specialists and submit written comments in person. Comments may also be submitted to: blm_sagegrouseplanning@blm.gov until Nov. 30, 2017.
