The following press releases was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management on Jan. 10, 2018. It is reproduced in full below.

BURLEY, Idaho - On Jan. 17 from 4-6 p.m., the BLM Burley Field Office (15 East 200 South, Burley) will host an open house to update the public about the proposed improvements and status of the conceptual plans for the Milner Historic Recreation Area. The field office has immediate plans to improve the visitor experience to the recreation area by installing informational trailhead signs at both the west and east ends of the National Historic Oregon Trail that crosses through the area. These trailheads will provide important educational background information about the Oregon Trail and help inform the public about future planned improvements to the area. Plans also include the design and installation of a new boat ramp to improve access to the Snake River.

The BLM is requesting funding for the improvements to the recreation area from Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation. Part of the grant application seeks public comment related to the proposed projects. Input may be provided during the open house or sent to: BLM_ID_BurleyOffice@blm.gov.
