TUCSON, Ariz. - The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is temporarily closing the San Pedro House to perform necessary roof repairs during the week of Feb. 7, with work taking up to four weeks to complete. All other areas outside of the safety fence will remain open to the public.
The building, located in the San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area, is a restored historic ranch house nestled in an area of majestic cottonwood trees and a network of recreational uses such as hiking, bicycling, equestrian, and wildlife viewing.
“The San Pedro House is such an iconic place in the riparian area. It’s important for us to make sure the building is properly maintained and kept safe for visitors now and into the future," said Jayme Lopez, the Tucson Field Office manager.
