BLM North Central Montana District Plans Limekiln Prescribed Fire

(LEWISTOWN, Mont.) - The Limekiln Prescribed Fire will take place on our around May 16, 2018, weather permitting.

Smoke will likely be visible from Lewistown and areas surrounding the Judith Mountains.

The Bureau of Land Management North Central Montana District will implement the 15-acre Limekiln Canyon Prescribed Fire Project about seven miles northeast of Lewistown, Mont. The prescribed burn is designed to reduce hazardous fuels and improve forest health conditions.

This burn will be conducted by fire personnel from several federal, state and local agencies as well as BLM staff from the Lewistown Field Office. For more information, call BLM Fuels Specialist Mike Solheim at 406-538-1976.
