BLM crews sprucing up Hobo Camp Day Use Area, invite volunteer help

The following press releases was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management on June 26, 2018. It is reproduced in full below.

Crews from the Bureau of Land Management have launched a summer project to spruce up the Hobo Camp day use area along the Bizz Johnson National Recreation Trail, and welcome volunteer help.

BLM employees have started the project work by painting, removing graffiti, clearing weeds and installing new signs.

“We welcome help from anyone interested in improving Hobo Camp, keeping it clean and in good repair for everyone," said BLM Eagle Lake Field Manager Brian Novosak. “We are proud to be good neighbors in Susanville by keeping our public sites attractive and safe."

Anyone interested in volunteering should telephone Marisa Williams at 530-252-5303.

Hobo Camp lies at the eastern end of the Bizz Johnson Trail and provides Susan River access for swimming, fishing and picnicking. There is connector path to the Bizz Johnson Trail and the South Side Trail, a seven-mile single-track route.
