The following press releases was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management on July 18, 2018. It is reproduced in full below.

Roswell, N.M. - The onset of monsoonal moisture has limited the fire danger and the Bureau of Land Management has lifted fire restrictions on public land at Fort Stanton-Snowy River Cave National Conservation Area and the public lands around the town of Lincoln, starting at 8 a.m. on July 18.

The restrictions had been in effect since April 20, 2018, but with the increased moisture over several weeks the threat of human-caused fires has been mitigated.

Fire restrictions remain in place in northern New Mexico, on BLM-managed lands in the Farmington District. To view details on these restrictions go to firerestrictions.us.
