LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. - The Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) Lake Havasu Field Office will implement the temporary closure of a small strip of public land adjacent to the Lake Havasu City Airport, in order to meet Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) airshow ground safety requirements during the upcoming Hangar 24 AirFest. The temporary closure will be in effect October 26-27.
Approximately two-thirds of a square mile of public lands will be affected by the closure, and will be part of the aviation safety zone that extends beyond the airport boundary.
The main route into adjacent public lands will remain open throughout the airshow event, ensuring continued public access to public lands beyond the safety zone. However, a short segment of a power line access road that runs parallel to the airport boundary will not be open to the public during the closure.
The attached map details the location of the temporary closure area. For more information, please call the Lake Havasu Field Office at 928-505-1200.
