(BILLINGS, Mont.) - The BLM would like to hear your comments regarding the use of motorized vehicles and aircraft in managing wild horses and burros on BLM lands in Montana and the Dakotas.
A public hearing will be held on Feb. 15 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the BLM Montana/Dakotas State Office, 5001 Southgate Drive, in Billings.
Motorized vehicles could be used to obtain population estimates, collect monitoring information, apply fertility control treatments, transport animals and gather excess wild horses. Before motorized vehicles can be used, a public hearing is required in order to comply with Section 404 of the Federal Land Policy and Management Act.
